The Amazing Expansion that Accompanies Grief
My little family for the past three years has been my best friend and the love of my life, Piotrek, my curious and ever present Zuli and my beautiful, connected and highly intuitive healing kitty called Fira. Fira transitioned to the spirit world on 10-11-17 and since then, Piotrek and I have been filled with grief. Our life has allowed us to take the time we choose and the space we choose to process this or any other emotion or event in any way desire.
We chose to let the grief in, feel it, experience it, talk about it and really be consciously present. It's brought us tears and laughter. It has awakened us to the immense gratitude within our hearts for sharing life with this special girl. It gave us a chance to connect to each other and learn about each other while being there in support and love. And it taught us above all about staying in the place of vulnerability.
Fira was a healer. Whenever anyone who came to our home was feeling down in anyway, she was immediately by their side. She also loved accompanying me to my studio and very often gently made her way to the treatment table to sooth the clients. Fira was gentle, delicate, and tender. She was curious and knew what she wanted. She also knew how to get exactly what she wanted in the most subtle ways. Her love was big and powerful and unforgettable. Her greatest gift was the way she loved, unconditionally. When we think about our baby girl and honoring her life, we know that we must live in love as unconditionally as we are able to.
I read a quote today by Abraham Hicks which read: "There are two emotions. One feels good and one feels bad. Which means, you’re connected to your Energy Stream or you’re not allowing your Energy Stream." Choosing to feel and experience the grief in a way that honors Fira and our life together for 7 years doesn't feel bad, in fact, in the collective of life, it feels really good to be in this space. I will always miss her and remember her, but this time which we've spent in honor and gratitude and unconditional love has been really good.
In the moment just after she passed, I said within myself, "I can't believe it's over" as I sobbed. And I heard her say back, "We've only just begun."
