The Energy of Transformation
When we think about science, our bodies are made up of thousands of cells, these cells are in a continuous state of gestation, birth, growth, and death. New cells are forming as new cells dissipate. I once read that our cell make up completely restructures every 7 years. Which means that while we are the same being we were 7 years ago, we don't have any of the same cells. When I think about this constant state of regeneration that our bodies are experiencing, it rings true that our emotions and state of being are also evolving.
Thinking about our emotional health in a continuum of evolution rather than a static plane gives us a tremendous opportunity to tune into our state of being. If we become more aware of the emotions we are experiencing and why we are experiencing them, we have a chance at utilizing our emotions for the specific purpose that they serve. The purpose isn't to remind us of some trauma we experienced earlier in the day, a year ago or during our childhood, but rather to help us with our evolution as a being.
Let's say we experience anxiety every time we are in front of a group of people. If we get into that anxiety a little bit we might discover that it is reflective of our fear of failure. Fear of failure is the root of our emotional trigger and it represents some expectation that we created and put upon ourselves to share the perfect version of ourselves without flaws. The problem of the NOW has less to do with what caused us to have a fear of failure, but rather our perspective and the idea that we continue to have this expectation which is our greatest limitation.
We are living in the present now, this moment is all we have. How can dragging the past, dragging what we've always done and dragging the expectations along with us, allow us to truly experience the now? I don't believe it's possible. What I do believe is possible, is transforming the emotions, shifting our state of being into one that serves the highest and best in the NOW. If we reflect back on our cell make up evolving and transforming and we believe in the idea of energy, then it is highly possible that we can transform our emotions, as they too are energy.
Energy cannot be created nor destroyed but merely transformed.
There are lots of therapeutic techniques based on the idea of transformation of energy. It's up to you to find the way that serves you at any given time. One of the easiest ways to transform our emotions is through shifting our perspective. That means being in a state of awareness that allows us to see our emotions, actions and reactions from the outside looking in and to use that awareness to transform the way we feel about something. Sometimes, it's a little tricky for us to get out of the state of the emotion. One technique I absolutely love is using one's own voice as a healing modality.
By creating a sound, a vibration within us, we create harmony within our cells. My mentor Ken Koles taught me a technique for transforming the emotions through sound. The route of the technique is Daoist. Each element has specific positive and negative emotions associated with it and a sound that is used to transform the negative emotion into a positive emotion.
My amazing husband and I co-created this audio track to assist you as you transform your emotions. Please have a listen and use your own voice along with the recording for the greatest effect.
Personally, I use the sounds to transform emotions as a daily practice. I love the balance and harmony that I feel in my cells as I make the sounds and I really enjoy feeling the peace that floods over me. Just like you, I experience a range of emotions throughout the day, but this practice has really allowed me to energetically move through the flow of the day and to experience an emotion at any given time, but to release the emotion as the moment becomes another.
