Healing Rays

sting ray healing energy

Today, in my Unwinding Meridians course, Ken Koles, my mentor, says has anybody ever worked on creatures without bones before. I sit for a moment and then, in typical fashion, shoot my hand up, so excited to share, "YES, ME!! I have, sharks and rays!!"

Tonight, as I sat down to write, I felt really compelled to share a couple of my ray healing stories are they continue to fascinate me. My first REAL interaction with rays was in 2013 when I traveled to Bimini to be with, yup, you guessed it, dolphins! They were magical, as always, but I had an experience I'd never had before and that was healing sessions with rays.

Several of us got into a shallow cove and began doing craniosacral and energy work on each other in the water. As I stood with my hands on the head of a client, I felt something brush against my leg, sure enough, it was a ray. As I looked at the three other therapists, they were experiencing the same thing. There were somewhere around 20 rays with wing spans up to 3 feet dancing around our legs, nudging the clients and just getting super into the energy.

The rays brought an electric energy that seemed to transform the healing energy very quickly into an integration phase. After 12 or 15 minutes, the rays chilled out and started burying themselves in the sand at our feet. They were happy to receiving healing energy from us. The energy shifted from the intense input to a complete silence. The space for healing was profound and unique to the energy of the rays. They were magnificent to be around and the power was so palpable.

I've had only one other opportunity to share healing space with the rays together working on clients and it was in the very same location, 2 years later. And the energy was very similar.

I've also noticed since this initial group healing session, my interactions with rays in the wild have been super profound and the energy exchange between us powerful and healing. In the shallows, mostly in Bimini, I've had rays rub their wings along my body and nudge me with the tip of their face, like a cat might do with a human.

I certainly never expected to share this connection with sting rays, but I am so grateful that the universe has given me the chance to share energy with them in such an intimate experience in their underwater world. I continue to be fascinated by what is and what's possible and remain open to the magic of it all!
