The Experience of Pelvic Care

Pelvic Care Services and Approaches

Dr. Krystal discussed her approach to pelvic care services, emphasizing the importance of understanding both the patient's medical history and the patterns of their symptoms. She explained that her approach combines Western and Eastern medical perspectives, aiming to identify the root cause of the patient's condition. Dr. Krystal also highlighted the importance of setting realistic expectations and providing education about the pelvic floor. She noted that each patient's case is unique and requires a nuanced understanding of their specific condition to ensure successful treatment.

Pelvic Floor Diagnosis and Treatment

Dr. Krystal discussed the process of diagnosing and treating pelvic floor issues. They explained that the first step involves palpating the patient's anatomy, including the muscles of the glutes, posterior rotators of the hip, and the pelvic floor. This is done to identify any imbalances or issues that may be contributing to the patient's symptoms. The doctor also mentioned the possibility of performing an internal examination if the patient is comfortable with it. After palpation, the doctor would begin treatment, which may include acupuncture, dry needling, cupping, or moxibustion. The treatment would be tailored to the patient's specific needs and would aim to address any structural or emotional issues identified during the examination. The doctor also emphasized the importance of developing a rapport with the patient and ensuring their comfort throughout the process.
