New Offering: Microneedling & Facial Acupuncture

Acupuncture school was stressful on my body and my face!

Traveling once a month for 2 and a half years to Colorado from New Hampshire exposed me to two very different environments, one which was humid and damp and the other extremely dry. Beyond the climate fluctuations was stress of maintaining my full time practice and being in school or clinic. And of course, as time, moves on we age, just a reality of being HUMAN. I started to notice fine lines on my forehead both creasing across and the unforgiving 11’s above my nose. “I’m not ready for wrinkles!” was on repeat in my head every time I looked in the mirror.

The face is the outer manifestation of what is happening within.

I began researching what different lines on the face mean about what is happening within the body and the spirit and sure enough, my own lines were a reflection of what was happening inside. For example, the infamous 11’s reflect impatience or annoyance and the liver. At this phase of my life impatience was a virtue! I wanted to be moving faster and achieving more. Driving in the fast lane was second nature!

I looked deeper and deeper into slowing down and healing the parts of me that were in overdrive. I found that needling these 11’s both calmed me down and diminished the wrinkles! I added this to my self care routine and seriously upper my facial self care by doing daily gua sha and being diligent about moisturizer. I also took a deep dive into the history of the face through the lens of Chinese Medicine. I started studying with the late Lillian Bridges, Michelle Gellis and Lia Andrews to learn about face reading, gua sha, facial cupping, microneedling (collagen induction therapy), derma rolling, facial acupuncture (cosmetic acupuncture), and the cycles of aging.

The common thread is that by working with the face, the whole health of the body improves. And we feel better inside and out!

Offering ‘cosmetic’ services via the channels of Chinese Medicine allows us as practitioners to transcend the realm of treatments for vanity to treatments for optimal health and wellbeing. Session availability begins the first week of October 2022. Sessions are one hour in length. Book soon to take advantage of our introductory rates.

I can’t wait to see your beautiful faces!
