Global Conciseness and Peace through Music
It has been a dream of mine to see Xavier Rudd in concert ever since the first time I heard his music. He combines the vibrational drones of the didgeridoo with his voice, harmonica, guitar, piano, synthesizers and drums. I was immediately attracted to the wild sounds of the didgeridoo and the messages of his poetry.
It took several years, but at exactly the right time in my life, my husband and I manifested our presence at Xavier's concert in Portland, Maine. As I stood watching the opening act with anticipation, I watched tears stream down the artists face as she sang with all her heart a song dedicated to her father who passed on a year ago. She created the lyrics to the chorus from a voice message her father left her before he passed.
It dawned on me as she teared, sang, shared her story and captivated everyone in the audience that there was some major healing power in her song.
Not only was she healing through writing and performing the song, but everyone in the audience was receiving some form of healing, as well.
The next act featured an artist who is a refuge soldier from Sudan. His whole family, many friends and over 80% of the soldiers he was with died in the turmoil that struck his country.
He Survived.
And lived to sing about bringing peace and harmony to this world. He sang about the woman who rescued he and the other survivors of his platoon. She was his angel and he wished to give back to the world in any way he could by standing up for children and peace.
By this point in the evening, the power of the vibration of consciousness had begun to set in. Everyone was there because they shared the belief in something greater, something global, something positively impacting the world in every way. And, Xavier hadn't even come to the stage yet.
WHOA.
I held back tears of joy and gratitude as he came to the stage barefoot, guitar slung around his back, burning sage in one had and carrying a hot tea in the other. He sat behind his didgeridoo, rested his guitar upon his lap and the high vibrational energy of his creation permeated the room. The magnitude of this vibration was so great, I could feel my whole body becoming charged with the frequency of light.
The outpouring of love through sound was so immense.
Then Xavier started talking about unconditional love that he felt radiating throughout the room and encouraged everyone in the audience to share that love with each other. He said, hold the person you came with and express your love for them. And then he began to sing a song about love.
Holding hands with my husband and the older woman beside me, I felt the most collective love of humans I ever have. I will absolutely never forget this moment. What followed built upon that love energy. We shared love for humans, creatures, our oceans, our earth, the trees, the mountains, rivers and ourselves. We set intentions for global peace.
I knew without a doubt that there was healing for all of us happening right there and that, if we let it...
The vibration of the sounds, the vibration of all the beings in that room and the vibration of LOVE would raise our consciousness and infuse our globe with peace, harmony, pure good and connection to source energy.
I leave you with these uplighting lyrics:
Follow the Sun
Xavier Rudd
Follow, follow the sun
And which way the wind blows
When this day is done
Breathe, breathe in the air
Set your intentions
Dream with care
Tomorrow is a new day for everyone,
Brand new moon, brand new sun
So follow, follow the sun,
The direction of the bird,
The direction of love
Breathe, breathe in the air,
Cherish this moment,
Cherish this breath
Tomorrow is a new day for everyone,
Brand new moon, brand new sun
When you feel life coming down on you,
Like a heavy weight
When you feel this crazy society,
Adding to the strain
Take a stroll to the nearest waters
And remember your place
Many moons have risen and fallen long, long before you came
So which way is the wind blowin',
And what does your heart say?
So follow, follow the sun,
And which way the wind blows
When this day is done
