Happy Lunar New Year!

Happy Lunar New Year

The Year of the Rabbit

Before I became an acupuncturist, I didn’t know much about the Lunar (or Chinese) New Year. But as I studied Chinese Medicine, I realized the importance of the holiday. The Lunar New Year in many Eastern Cultures celebrated as it is connected to the first New Moon of the year! It is essentially Nature’s New Year. I’ve come to really love connecting with the Moons, as it brings me closer to Nature and this is the moment of the year that sets us up to really engage with the Moon and her cycles.

According to Chinese Astrology, this year brings us close to the Rabbit Spirit. Interestingly enough, the Rabbit itself is representative of the moon energy. It is also a symbol of peace, longevity and prosperity. 2023 has long been predicted to be a year of hope! The element the year is associated with is the Water Element which makes the energy of the year more Yin than Yang. This should give us all a little more patience, acceptance, and kindness toward each other. And it should bring us INNER PEACE!

What energies are you hoping to call in during the Year of the Rabbit?
